Lead early literacy

The Leading Initial Literacy Program proposes to put on the table the debate about what literacy is and what it entails. Our goals are:

Make visible the problem of initial literacy and its implications for the sustainable development of each student and society.

Articulate current research contributions with real practices for the development of evidence-based literacy strategies.

Develop skills and commitment to lead the necessary changes in school cultures and practices towards effective literacy for all students.

To achieve this:

We trained the primary and initial level ministry specialists team in the province of Corrientes

We developed a self-assisted virtual teacher training course

We interviewed the main literacy leaders in the country and with their answers we put together 10 educational videos

We provided virtual and in-person training meetings to teachers and principals of primary schools

Leading literacy: The door to learning (4 modules):

Module I Spying through the keyhole: The current context of literacy

Module II In search of the master key: Discover lower level skills

Module III The open door to communication: Skills to understand and produce written discourse.

Module IV Play the full game: engage in learning experiences
