School Leadership Network
Since its launch in 2021, together with Global School Leaders and thanks to the opportunity given by UNESCO through the Teacher Task Force, we lead this school leadership network. We seek to strengthen the educators´voices inside the academic community and the public policy, understanding the characteristics of effective school leaders and their main challenges. We boost school leadersto become change makers.
This year we worked in collaboration with the team that develops the Global Education Monitoring Report, widely known as the GEM Report. The net work will contribute to the following report that will be focused on school leadership from three main topics: the roles and standards of school leadership, strategic policies in school principals' work and school leadership communities.

THROUGH THE NETWORK WE SEEK TO
To amplify school leaders´voices through creating reports about key topics that impact on school leadership.
To reduce the gap between policy, academia and practice creating spaces for meeting and trust-building among school leaders, experts on leadership and public policy makers.
To promote a network directed by and for a community of school leaders that guarantee conversations oriented and grounded on the school leaders´realities.
Activities in 2023
We identify key activities that outlined our work path:
Global meeting
Virtual and open meetings to all members of the community. They had the aim of promoting deep and open conversations about the realities, the challenges and the possibilities that surround school leadership. The records of the debates will contribute to the UNESCO GEM Report 2024/5 about school leadership.
Resources about school leadership
From the global meetings and the prioritised topics, lessons and reflections were compiled to develop thematic reports that allow to identify good practices and insights about school leadership, providing leaders with global resources based on evidence.
For each meeting, together with the GEM Report Team (UNESCO), we prepared thematic notes that enable to provide a context, as well as developing questions that would open up consultative spaces. In the reports of each session conversations and findings of each work room, along with the insights from the guest experts that enriched the topic.
